The victim's family only learned about the incident when it was too late, adding to the impression that the company was more concerned with strong action than dialogue or actions in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
Serious violations by unscrupulous TNI
The involvement of TNI unscrupulous in this incident further worsen the situation. TNI members assigned to PT ABM Labusel were reportedly involved in torture and threats to the victims, who clearly violated the law governing the role of TNI members outside the military duties. Based on Article 39 of the TNI Law No. 34 of 2004, members of the TNI are prohibited from being involved in business activities or acting as "centeng" in the company. The action of this TNI person shows that supervision of their existence in the company needs to be tightened, and there must be strict sanctions for those who violate the rules

In the first mediation, the company was found to have admitted their mistake and was willing to fulfill the victim's demands. Increasing Supervision and Law Enforcement
This case reopens the discourse regarding the importance of strict supervision of the actions of individuals involved in business activities, especially in this case the presence of TNI personnel in the private sector. Their presence should not create a situation where civilians or workers become victims of this kind of violence. PT ABM must also take full responsibility for this incident, both in terms of worker protection and for the actions taken by their subordinates.
Sustainability demands and legal clarity
The victims' families and their lawyers are now waiting for a clearer and more transparent legal process. They hope that this incident can open the eyes of society and the government regarding the importance of protecting human rights in the workplace, as well as eliminating violent practices and abuse of power that still occur in a number of sectors.
With this case, it is expected that there will be changes in law enforcement within the company and supervision of the involvement of the military in businesses that violate regulations. (Redaksi)
